The development of the Baltics was considerably influenced by seatrade – the Hansa. Thanks to maritime trade the Hanseatic cities developed rapidly into cosmopolitan centres of medieval northern Europe. Bohemian Lands took also part in the trade with Baltic cities, e.g. with Riga. Besides amber, corn and other commodities, the typical trade article were sumptuous glass beakers manufactured in Czech workshops; they can be seen in the exhibition.
