Glass vessels

One of demanded commodities in medieval Europe coming from Bohemian workshops were glass vessels with melted drawn glass drops used especially for drinking beer. During the 14th century this ware travelled along the Elbe to the Baltic Sea and further across the sea to Scandinavia. A developed trade with these goods culminated at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries and it declined only during the Hussite wars. The glass goblet, the bowl, the bottle and the kettle come from archaeological excavations of urban households in Brno. City Museum Brno.
