The political power of the Teutonic Order in the Baltics was broken in the biggest battle in the history of medieval Europe – the battle of Grunwald in 1410. The Teutonic Knights were defeated by the allied armies of the Polish-Lithuanian Union the part of which might also have been Czech Hussite troops (including Jan Žižka). This important event of medieval European history is documented with several authentic militaria – weapons and armours, as well as with a monumental historicizing picture by Jan Matejko.
