In tribal communities

Baltic tribes on the territory of today Lithuania, Latvia, north eastern Poland and Estonia (where they however met another important ethnicum of that region – the Finno-Ugrians, the today Estonians) were the latest christianized population of the whole of Europe. Due to that fact monuments of pagan traditions have survived in a great number until today. A ritual site with two monumental stone sculptures – so called Prussian „baba“ – documents the pagan mythology of the Balts.
